I guess this is possible but it would depend on the age group and also there should be strict rules about not reading during other class hours. Years ago when I was still a student, our class was struggling with a certain literary work. Even though we were reading summaries and "modernized" editions we still couldn't understand most of it. Our teacher found a comic book about the story and that helped us a lot in understanding the whole thing.

Comics can be great as a learning tool, especially since the pages are very dynamic. Children tend to learn better when they're engaged, and comics with the appropriate subject matter could very well spark more interest than a conventional book.

Of course, they're meant only to be one medium of teaching. The kids still need to read traditional books for most subjects, after all.

I believe they can be a good medium for teaching children, as they come in a format that is easy to understand. Of course, they can be used to supplement other types of books. Since kids like comics already, they're more likely to pay attention to them.

I personally love comics! They can be fun and informative, both together. My father being a person from the older generation didn't like them and has forbidden me to read them. He said I should be reading books, but nowadays I do both.

Maybe educational comics with decent art standards issued as complementary, non-mandatory material. I mention decent artwork so children will feel naturally attracted to the works, I think they tend to avoid material that's not appealing to them. I remember I would reject poor artwork as a child since I was already accustomed to more appealing, original drawings.

They can be used to help younger students learn how to read, and some of the more mature ones can be used as texts in an English course.

Comics could help in a way to educate children especially in creativity. They could easily grasp ideas and get into imagination to create in their own art It helps develop their sense of focus on the things that they're doing. This is a great way to earn responses on children attention during class discussion.

It would be interesting to bring comics into the classroom like manga classics. Manga Classics is the first mainstream publisher to use the authentic manga style of Japanese comics, which are read right to left, to create faithful adaptations of classic novels. Erik Ko, chief of operations for Manga Classics, sees manga as a way to get kids interested in reading classic literature. And the publisher is finding success in classrooms across the country.

Well, I personally think that you can incorporate comics in the lessons. But, you have to make sure that it connects well to the topic, or else, the students would lose their focus and give their attention to the pile of comics in your classroom instead.

Yes, comics are potentially helpful for learning. Not all multi-media is effective, hence just like all others it should be used depending on the kind of students you are teaching. Comics is a great tools for roleplays, illustrations and script writing.

Yes I agree that comics can be used as an effective tool within the classroom. Of course it depends on the class or subject as well but it integrated effectively will be a wonderful source of learning for students. Comics are very catchy and interesting so I believe that it will be effective for students. Comics can be integrated into traditional books where most students find it boring to read. This way reading can be more colorful and enjoyable for the students.

Comics as a visual-narrative form can be a useful tool in learning especially when it comes to literature or learning foreign languages. They use direct presentation of motives, characters and situations through drawings which can make acquiring new knowledge fun. Naturally, without thorough reading there is no complete understanding, but comics can help because they offer visual statement of what is written.
