How do you choose a new book to read?

I actually get a decent amount of recommendations from reddit. Although lately I've tried to curb that as there are too many books on here that seemingly everyone suggests that I have not enjoyed all that much. I've found that, for the most part, the Amazon and Goodreads recommendations are pretty accurate though.

In choosing a book to read, I red first the title of the Book. If it captivates my attention or curiosity, I will read that book.

The book cover that is inviting and beautiful can make me to read. It can get me hooked up.

I often read the synopsis/summary first. Then I try to look for decent book reviews. If I like what I read then I'll give it a shot. If by any chance I've read 2 chapters and I still don't get a feel for the book I stop reading it.

Well i do choose the book that i read through various channels. I mean I prefer to read a book that has good reviews or if someone recommends me to read it. The other thing that i do before choosing the book is to read the brief summary of the book and decide whether the book is worth reading. However, in case of the best and my favorite authors I tend to read there books whenever they are available without going through the Synopsis or reviews.
