Why do you read books?

Written text is perhaps the most direct way to enter into someone else's mind, and that alone makes reading a very interesting experience. Also, reading a great book is like spending time on a very beautiful place, like an old palace or a lush forest that you know you're going to return some time in the future.

I read books because it helps me relax. The information in them is a bonus, and the words I can learn from them is another bonus.

Reading books generally improves my grammar and wits, I noticed that it sharpens the brain. I also read for fun of course, but usually it's a mixture of these two.

Because I love to escape from this harsh, modern reality. Books offer you some new world, new people. And we all love to imagine things. That is why we read books. We read them in order to imagine new places and create different reality from ours. Books are so powerful!

I started reading books when I was in grade school. Understandably the books were light reading with big fonts and has many graphics or illustrations to get the interest of young readers. Also, those books were in our language. But when I entered high school that's when I shifted to reading English books that are mostly romance in genre. Those paperbacks were addictive because most of my classmates were addicts with those paperbacks that we swap books to save on buying. When I entered college the books changed its color again and I was reading about Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie mysteries.

Mostly to obtain information and grow as a person since entering into contact with different ideas helps you see reality from several angles. I also do it for distraction and recreation, but the truth is that sometimes you'll have to read out of obligation (books assigned at school or work) and you might not feel too excited about those.

I read books because i i like to learn to someone's story even it's a fiction or not. It depends on the book what you will learn to it. I like the mystery type of story. It keeps me reading every time. I am not satisfied until I read the whole story.
